We did observations of earthworms in my science class. One of the students wanted to know if he could eat a worm when we we finished with the class ( ALIVE). I said OK if you bring in a note from home . He did. He ate the worm( made sure it was a BIG one) , and washed it down with a Snapple. He became a legend in his own time ( in 6th grade ).

I had to dissect a live earthworm for Zoology in college. I just couldn't get past sticking the pins in it and watching it squirm. That's when I decided the biological sciences were not for me. Especially since my professor taught a whole bunch of other classes I had to take and he despised me for my reaction. (He made it VERY clear.) Smashing up the fruit flies in genetics didn't help either.
