***updated...attempted ammonium nitrate purchase?
Veteran journalist Mark Tapscott raises red flags over the MSM's coverage of the Oklahoma suicide bomber.
Keeping an eye on the story...

730pm EDT update. Hinrichs reportedly tried to buy ammonium nitrate. Gateway Pundit Jim Hoft has details.
The story was broken by KOCO 5 at Channel Oklahoma.com.
Flopping Aces reports: "Apparently the local CBS affiliate in OKC had a report that Hinrichs has been known to visit the local Islamic center around the corner from his apartment..."
Wizbang with details from this morning.

That's right. And good point yesterday, Art, about this site being founded by conspiracy theorists.
After Tom Ridge played the color coded cha-cha every week, now that we have a credible threat, nothing!
Our government is not protecting us! Keep your powder dry folks!
In other words, he was a MUSLIM EXTREMIST.
Or:
His partner detonated him remotely, thinking he should already be in the stadium..
Or:
A stray static charge or unexpected cell phone call set everything off....
OR - somebody dialed a wrong number!
Pinglist folks, keep an eye on dougfromupland's posts today. Jayna Davis may have more info on the Oklahoma University bombing as it relates to Moussaui and the Norman Islamic cell.
I still can't figure out why they didn't shout it (the 911-OKC connection) from the rooftops instead of sending Powell to the UN with that little bottle of anthrax.
Seems they wasted so much political leverage over Iraq by their silence.
I agree with you. Jayna is a brave woman. A true patriot. EVERY American needs to read her book "The Third Terrorist".
"I am sad when I see African-Americans mixed up in this Muslim terror."
What was it Louis Fara-con said recently? Bush blew up a levee to flood the poor areas of NOLA? What was his religion again? Oh yeah....
If there is, it's best we keep it a secret.
I'd like to try out your OKC/9-11 connection ping list for a month or so.
Right. I'd already considered the same thing and kept my blasted mouth shut. So have a number of people.
Sure. It's extremely low-volume, until something like this pops up.
WELL DONE!
Kudos to cacique
Excellent! Low volume works well for me. =]
Cicero, I couldn't agree more. We just spoke with some acquaintances in OKC and they refuse to believe anything other than the Koolaid being served by Boren and the FBI.
They seem to be the sort of folks who just can't face dark facts, I know this from this Schiavo case.
The government is doing a disservice to the people when it doesn't tell the truth about these instances. And OU enrollment and football game attendance be damned!
I'd love to tell Janya Jayna what a Great American she is!"
As a Davis, myself - I completely concur with that sentiment. Brilliant mind.
I owe everyone an apology on this thread. I put up No. 18 after stumbling upon it. I scanned the article, it had a few sentences that looked intereresting, so I added it to the thread. Apparently, it also had a lot of nonsense, and I guess I should have paid more attention and read the while thing. A lesson was learned. Sorry.
"After Tom Ridge played the color coded cha-cha every week, now that we have a credible threat, nothing!"
Actually starting last Thursday, Fox News in its trailer at the bottom of the screen noted that the Terrorist Threat level had been raised but there was no explanation.
My wife and I were on vacation last week, and I turned on Fox News in the late afternoon on Thursday and saw the banner with the note. We never found out why.
However, according to Phi Kap Mom, there was an increase of security precautions at the stadium which would indicate a reaction to a warning or the increase in the threat level.
