(KSL News) -- Search and rescue teams have found the seven-year old boy who was missing this afternoon outside of Kamas.
Sheriff Dave Edmunds says the boy was found not far from the camp. He says he had just become disoriented on his way back to camp.
The boy was apparently herding cattle with his father when he got cold and decided to return to camp, but he never arrived.
This search was particularly worrisome with the cold weather, as it has been snowing in the mountains all day. Temperatures are cold and are expected to get colder.
The boy was missing for about four hours.
Kamas is about 35 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
Thanks for the post. the clouds have been all over the mountains today, I am glad the boy is safe.
Thank God the child is safe!
Was this boy herding cattle afoot? Or was he riding a horse or on some vehicle?
I've herded cattle and I wouldn't want to do it on foot - especially in Utah's high desert terrain.
He was doing it on horseback. When people got worried about him and started looking, they found the horse but not the boy. That's when everything went to red alert. I'm glad they found him!

Amen to that...
