NORMAN, Okla. -- The general manager of a Norman feed store said Tuesday that Joel Henry Hinrichs III had inquired about purchasing a significant amount of ammonium nitrate, the primary ingredient used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
Dustin Ellison, the general manager of Ellison Feed & Seed on Porter Avenue, said that a man matching Hinrichs' description had come into the store days before he blew himself up on OU's campus. Ellison said the man asked about ammonium nitrate, but couldn't offer a reason why he needed it.
After the bombing, Ellison said he thought nothing of it. However, when he saw Hinrichs' photo, it triggered his memory.
To this point, authorities still suggest Hinrichs' only motive for blowing himself up was suicide. The FBI released a statement Tuesday evening saying that "there is no known link between Hinrichs and any terrorist or extremist organization(s) or activities."
The release also indicated that the FBI believes there is "no known current threat posed by any additional explosive materials."
Ellison noted that his store doesn't carry ammonium nitrate any longer after recent legislation required new paperwork for stores to sell the product.

The Michael Savage Show does deliver from time-to-time, like when we had those two huge blackouts in the North East and London.
FRegards....
*stunned!* I cannot believe this may have duplicated the Murrah Building bombing.
Another FReeper was concerned about this too. So two of us heard Rick Roberts on the whole way through, and he made this his prime topic. One didn't. It could be that some owners take marching orders and some don't. Or, just isolated technical difficulties. We'd need more input to draw any conclusions. God bless Rick Roberts and Michael Savage. FRee-gards....
I know exactly where he was sitting, and it was closer than you think. The South oval is right next to the stadium
I guess it depends on what you call "right next to". I agree that it wasn't a few blocks down Lindsey.
I'm listening to Rick Roberts this morning for the first time, on the internet, on his own radio show out of San Diego.
Someone yesterday posted a link, and yes, he's all over this story again.
I have to get going or would post some of his remarks.
If anyone wants to listen in:

Was thinking about it this morning.....The only reason I can think that the FBI/MSM would want to keep it quiet is if there is a MAJOR investigation going on and they don't want to tip the upper levels off.....IOW Play dumb for awhile to capture the entire snake. Never know who it might lead to, particularly if they think they are getting by with whatever they are doing.
It might also be a situation where to bring them in would endanger some of our "methods of enlightenment". ...

The average person walks three miles an hour (4 1/2 feet/second), and one can easily stroll along at two miles an hour (3 feet/sec) or even slower. 100 yards = 300' = 66 seconds at 3 mph, or 100 seconds at 2 mph. That is already 1 minute 40 seconds, so I think the 100 yard estimate is in fact confirmed by the reporter (and it would be interesting to see whether she was trying to prove or disprove it).
Also... I know the security is generally tight getting into the stadium. They go through purses, bags, etc. I'm thinking he was maybe trying to find a less obvious place to arrange the bomb to pass security, or something along those lines.
There are eyewitness accounts that he tried to enter the stadium but left when they tried to search his pack. Then there's the account of the bus driver, who saw him go to the bench, sit down, fiddle with the pack, and then explode. My guess is that he realized the only way he could smuggle the bomb into the stadium was to hide it under his clothing. So he picked the bench as a quiet spot where he could transfer the bomb from the pack to his clothing without anyone seeing him. And while he made the transfer, he accidentally set the thing off. Woops.
This latest update mentions that he was wearing a vest with wires sticking out of it.

do you have any kind of source for that? I am having a discussion on a OU football board and would like to use that if I can have a source for it.

Pertinent info appears in post #1.
I'll try this on for size .... the "coaching system" that helped to direct McVeigh and Nicols is still in place, and was also perhaps directing this kid.
Very similar to the London bomber whose pack (likely mistakenly) exploded on the bus.
Probably were part of the McVeigh crowd. Since the early 00's, that crowd has become very receptive to the AQ message based on hatred of Jews and based on their mistaken beliefs that the "US is controlled by Zionist imperialists" etc.
I am tired of being patient. There needs to be a massive COINTELPRO like operation to once and for all root out and arrest as many of the enemy within as possible. Many will cry "fascism" but I do believe it is needed. No pain no gain.
I must have left around then. Thank you for the link though. Might check him out tomorrow. FRegards....
I hope you're right. But let me 'ax' you a question: is that what's going on with Able Danger? Is it an effort to catch bigger fish? Or is it just your run-of-the-mill coverup? I think there's a SOP. Part of that SOP is to make every effort possible to make things look like they're anything but terrorism, and even then, anything-but-Islamic. 9-11 was too big to hide, just as this bomb would have been if the plan had worked.
I suspect it's removal was an attempt by HIll/Billy to Cover their own AZZZs.
Just a little update on your little tirade against an innocent store clerk. You were blaming him for not going to the authorities, but now we know that there was either an off-duty, or an undercover (depending on which teevee station is reporting) Norman cop in the store who also noticed Jihad Joey. The cop reported it to the Norman PD, including the license plate on the vehicle he was driving. It took the FBI THREE DAYS to contact the store and the clerk about it.
If you want to blame someone, blame the FBI. Leave the store clerk alone. He's already getting death threats and ugly phone calls because of people like you jerk their knee first, and get the facts later.
Pinging Regulator Country too because RC was also blaming the clerk.
