If you think DeWine, Snowe, Collins, Voinovich, and Chaffee would support Janice Rogers Brown, you need to get a grasp on reality.
I am not even factoring in Graham, Lugar, Spector, McCain, and Hagel.

You're right; Miers is a "reality" pick. JRB or Luttig would have been nice, but Bush probably felt he couldn't afford to risk losing a fight just now.

Very true. But I would like to get back to 1 clerk per Justice. The decisions would be pithy and easier to read.

Ah - you're back. I urge everyone here to look up where OldFriend is coming from, and how she attacks, attacks, attacks. I respect disagreement, but not the personal stuff. Have a good night all. Oh, and the fact that Kennedy lied to Reagan and Meese and many others does not justify "trust" - instead, it should teach us to do even more vetting, not less.
