he lied during the vetting process. Levin explained that, and right here on this thread - he's making the point that LESS information on a persons record can't possibly make the vetting process better. so what's the point?

So, Kennedy lied to Levin. Levin didn't spot it. How does this make Levin more qualified to judge Harriet Miers than the President?

Let's assume Janice Rogers Brown is the nominee. How does Bush know that she isn't lying to him? Hmmm?

Your reasoning is faulty, and one who vetted Kennedy has no room to attack anyone else. It is an understandable mistake, but it shows that Mr. Levin is not without flaws, himself.

Pleae read my earlier post about the numbers in the Senate. Maybe then you will understand where I am coming from.

The point is the vetting is done not for you but for the man who constitutionally has the power to appoint federal justices and judges, the POTUS. You vetted Bush, he does the vetting from theron in.
