The only reason I've heard is that she was the first woman to head the Bar association in Texas.

Frankly, that doesn't give me much information. And I remember Jimmy Carter's infamous "Trust me." We did....and we lived to regret it.

Ann had great grades in law school, but apparently couldn't cut in in the court room. She seems to be good at telling people how to fight battles she didn't have the guts to fight.
