I didn't deny Crichton used the scientific literature in his research. I merely said that there are articles out there by scientists criticizing his interpretation and, according to some, selective use, of the literature. Although I'm very familiar with scientific research, I'm not a climatologist, and I have never gone into the science of climatology in any detail, so I've no way of evaluating Crichton's work from a scientific viewpoint. How do I know if he did a thorough and honest review? I'm certainly not going to just take Crichton's word for it and reject a priori what other scientists are saying just because his conclusions might be easier to stomach.

I got a few reviews from fellow Freepers. Thanks. I think Crichton made an excellent speech with regard to the data that seems to be very skewed. Maybe I'll pick it up afterall.

You could be talking about the entire staffs of the New York Times, the Boston Globe, the LA times, the Washington Post and most of the so-called MSM.

Have you read "State of Fear" or are you relying on criticisms of it from 'scientists/environmentalists' who may have a vested interest in fostering the hysteria about 'global warming' and attributing it to human activity?

No, I haven't read it (yet). And I'm not "relying" on anyone. I'm simply pointing out that questions have been raised about Crichton's use of, and interpretation of, the scientific literature. Are those questions illegitimate?

For an in depth account of Crichton's life you will want to read Travels.
I have a signed, first edition of Travels. :o)
