Thanks for the ping; hoping this doesn't get swept under the rug.
"A suicide bombing, failed or not, at a packed stadium is kind of important,y'know? It's a bit frustrating that the media is almost totally blacking this out."
I think it's being blacked out because they stumbled on something much bigger than they expected. It was all too suspicious from the start. As soon as it happened they labeled it a suicide and somehow it got out that a second device was detonated and that was it. Weird. Just my opinion.
Can you imagine if he had had a GUN near a school stadium?? The MSM would have been all over it.
Interviewing witnesses, family, friends, school admin, feds, tracking his movements, what he had to eat, who he voted for, and there would be leaks from the local LE.
And gun control legislation would be in the congress today.
Yup, using NEIN as a "source" is not a smart thing to do. Especially when the source's only reference is "seasoned investigator".
Right up there with that Paul Williams guy and "american hiroshima".
I guess another one of their "seasoned investigators" is that Ryan Mauro fellow, who was 16 or 17 years old last time I checked. Seriously.
LOL. I didn't know about the Doogie Howsier kid. NEIN must have given him a free subscription to the newsletter in exchange for his services.
I don't think those subscriptions were 'free' for anyone.
bttt
Regardless, they are the only source, except for blogs, for any info on this event right now.
I wonder why that is?
Why do people still believe WND? I cannot remember the last time they were correct about anything.
Outstanding Cindy...
Just what I was looking for.
Thanks for doing the "leg work".
Really? Well, guess what--as far as I can tell, everything he's said so far has also been said by people close to this case--the officials just won't go on the record with it. Our local reporters have been publicly griping about the news blackout on this. They can't even obtain copies of the 911 calls--OU won't release them. That's HIGHLY unusual.
There is much more to report, but officials won't go "on the record" with any of it. Even the 911 tapes are being held back, and that's not the way it's usually done around here. Our teevee reporters even said last night that they know a lot more than they can report, because no one will go on the record to verify what they've found. One thing WND left out is that the roommate is a Pakistani, and cannot be found.
Have fun looking. Some Freepers were there and saw some peculiar things, and others have ties to local law enforcement. None of the local law enforcement are willing to go on the record right now, but off the record, they're saying there's more to this than a disturbed kid committing suicide.
Then again, if people were thinking logically, they'd wonder why so many explosives were in the apartment, when all he really needed to just kill himself would what he wore to the game. For that matter, all he really needed was a loaded gun, and I understand he was something of a gun enthusiast.

FReeper Tempest has a page full of contacts. Can you help?

Students are saying that the guy tried to enter the stadium a few times and was turned back for having a backpack.
So he went across the street, sat down on the bench and was strapping the bomb onto his body when it went off prematurely. Speculation is that he was going to try to re-enter the stadium, this time without his backpack.
I'll never forget the article Paul Sperry wrote about the incident in 1999, a confrontation with Clinton at a children's party, after which Sperry was banned from the WH.
