Perhaps, but this is GW's last good chance to get a conservative judge on the court. It is also his last good chance to do something good for the country and get his last jab at the libs.

First of all, I think Miers is a good conservative pick. I support her nomination and confirmation.

Secondly, Ruth Bader Ginsberg is not (my opinion) going to last the next three years. She may not be the only one. How old are Kennedy and Souter?

Do you have any facts to support your assertion? If you do, please...share them. Many of us would like to rest easy tonight.

Miers will be fine. She'll get 90 votes to confirm and will do us proud. She's no Souter.

"How old are Kennedy and Souter?"

They're relatively young - 60s, I think. Stevens, on the other hand, is as old as dirt. And, not to be ghoulish, I hear Ginsberg's health isn't very good. There was some speculation her retirement would precede Renquist's, but we know how that turned out.

Kennedy and Souter are relatively young and in good health. The best chance for another retirement (besides Ginsburg) would be Justice Stevens (he's 85).
