Ann Coulter: Miers a 'Complete Mediocrity'

Count Ann Coulter among the conservatives who are unhappy with President Bush’s nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

Asked by NewsMax.com if she considers Miers to be what she had called John Roberts after his nomination - a "tabula rasa” - Coulter, who’s now out with the paperback edition of her best-seller "How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must),” said:

"No. She’s something new: a complete mediocrity.”

Gore didn't run as a pro abortion candidate. He ran as one of those 'I'm personally pro life but don't belive the government has a right to legislate, idiots.'

A couple of years prior to that he actaully signed on to civil rights legislation defining unborn babies from conception as human beings.

He's an asshole but he was pro life until sometime in 88.

Nope, not gonna happen. I will continue to respect and admire Ann as long as she speaks for true die hard conservative--which I'm PROUD to be. She's no bimbo to me, but she sure is the babe!

Michael Brown is more qualified. He spent 2 more years at the Arabian Horse Association than Miers did at the Texas Lottery Commission. These are the GIANTS, my friends!

We oppose it because in a time when Bush is under the gun for a dizzying array of problems facing our country, he and his aides have managed to cater directly to those who think he's a complete idiot by bypassing women and men who have qualifications more akin to John Roberts, in favor of one of his buddies.

The mere APPEARANCE of ineptitude or cronyism is often more damaging than irrefutable proof of it.

At a time when he needed a stellar nominee who could prove he knows what the hell he's doing - he gives us this? Ridiculous.

Once-in-a-lifetime? You look into your crystal ball and see Justices Stevens and Ginsburg hanging on? (I don't entertain any chance for the Dems to win election in 2008 - indeed, I don't see their existing at all beyond 2012)

On some other thread here I opined that until next year's elections there simply aren't enough trustworthy Senators to risk having a Brown/Luttig/Owens type being shot down.

Do you believe it is fair to jump to conclusions when we have yet to know so little about her? Oh sure, the web has been FULL, brimming to the eyeballs FULL, of rumors, speculation, and even a few facts tossed in.

Other than opposing federal funding, how was Gore '88 any different than Kerry '04 on this issue? If you want, I can give you other citations from '87-'88 where Gore said he supported Roe v. Wade, etc.

No one could honestly classify his '87-'88 position as "pro-life."

I had to be away for awhile so maybe I missed your posts that show absolute proof that Ms. Miers is a "radical lefty". I've read other reports online that she is a left-wing radical, and I've also read that she's a staunch conservative. Isn't that something? So many opinions, so many rumors. Sorry, but I won't take your word for it (don't take it personally), and I won't take anyone's word for it. What I will do, and what everyone should do, is stop ranting, get to studying any and all information on this woman, and for heaven's sake.....calm down already. :)
