Those are my main concerns.. I agree with you on that..
C'mon man, get with the program? Don't you know that WE KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW here, we can see far in the past, and deep into the future! It is already a known quanitity! Not only should we have been bemoaning this pick since 8 AM today, we should have been screaming about it last week!
I'm with you friend, although I am somewhat dissapointed, I am willing to learn more and hope for the best. I know this kind of rationalism will get me painted as a "bush-bot" or a Repubaton, but what can ya do?
This morning when I heard the President cite the nominee's active role in the "Meals on Wheels" program in Texas...I just shook my head and fought the urge to demand a full refund from the RNC for everything I've donated over the past 5 years.
When you are wrong, I expect you to come back and say so.
Bush has said that he has talked with several in Senate. Many were saying do not pick someone from the ivory tower, go with someone who has not been a judge. It would bring diversity and a new look to those sitting on the front row. W would not have picked her if he thought she was unqualified or against his own morals and values.
So having the Vice President on to explain the position of the White House is wrong? You are letting your hatred of this Administration blind you of any reasoning (if you had any to begin with).
Thanks, Springman. I was looking for this.
Thanks for posting the reminder that this is a forum of opinions...and no two people's opinions are the same all of the times....even Bush-Bots...like me.
Who is Chuck Schumer to decide what is EXTREME or MAINSTREAM?
Dont you know? She's been PRETENDING to support the President and the cause of Conservativism. Its all a ruse to get herself appointed to the USSC :)
All well and good BUT - do you honestly believe she is the best choice given many other fine candidates?
If you're saying Republicans no longer want nor need the votes of conservative, pro-life Christians ... I beg to differ.
Why? The President acted from fear...he's lost his nerve.
Agreed.
I want the Vice President on.
I realize some people are trying to suggest this is only discontent among the discontents, but that is untrue.
The administration has an obligation to speak to us about this. I welcome the Vice President's response in an hour.
Exactly my thoughts, Cheney will smooth the ruffled feathers on El Rushbo. He is visiting BECAUSE the conservative base needs the choke chain yanked. The reports say that this pick is in line with the Presidents thoughts on the Constitution. From his actions, I would say he is not a strict Constitutionalist. When asked directly a question designed to elicit his opinion on the subject during the 2000 election, he said "the issue has been decided", when asked about the constitutionality of the Depts of Agriculture, Education, Welfare etc.
Not sure it's fear but it is a decision that is far too safe.
Here we go. If Rush agrees with you, its because he is an independent thinker. If he disagrees, he is sticking his finger in the wind.
