Getting canned when you least expect is all part of the radio biz. Believe me, I know.
I'm sorry for her, but no whining allowed aloud. That's just the business. If she's as good as she says she is, she'll get another gig in no time.

but no whining allowed aloud As a whine might go, that seems pretty tepid.

I like Melanie and Lee a lot but in the last few years their show has started to get a little stale. The show format is very predictable - usually a good guest in the first half hour but then mindless banter and stock market reports in the second half. I find myself switching to different stations if the guest is not interesting, and almost always switch at the bottom of the hour.
The whole KGO lineup needs work and I suspect this is reflected in the ratings. They have Dr. Laura from noon to 3:00 which is a huge mistake. Radio 650 in Sacramento has much better programming through the day and I usually listen there as it comes in loud and clear in the Bay Area.
I suspect this move has to do with low ratings and not Melanie's political activities, as she has been an activist for many years.

If she's as good as she says she is, she'll get another gig in no time. ....My husband, a strong conservative, listens to her every morning on his way to work and says she's great!

KSFO believes that they can be successful with a lib program instead.
Wonder if they will replace the show with the highly success Err Amerika show "The Morning Sedition" /sarcasm off

I am not sorry for her. I couldn't care less but I didn't detect any whining. Shes off the air and explained why. She has a right to do that.

Yup, I too can testify to that!! One of the reasons I got out of "radio"-NO security. And, it didn't matter how popular you are/where.

I'm sorry for her, but no whining allowed aloud. Aloud is really the only way you can whine ... if you do it quietly, it's whimpering.
