A University of Oklahoma student with "emotional difficulties" was identified Sunday as the person who apparently committed suicide near a packed football stadium using an explosive attached to his body.

LOL. I stand corrected...more Doogie than Hanks it is.
You have to admit it's a strange suicide.
The Amish go for that beard-without-a-mustache look, too. But I don't think this guy was Amish...
Ok, It is. But then (IMO) anyone who kils themselves is not thinking real straight.
Nothing wrong with speculation. I mean that's what we do much of the time, but in following this story on a number of threads it seem to me that some people will be disappointed if the guy wasn't a Muslim.
You know, you visit a website a couple dozen times, and the main page is covered with bizarre conspiracy hoaxes two times out of three, you can be forgiven for making some sweeping generalizations about the nature of the organization.
Don't be a jerk. Just because somebody doesn't bother to prove to you that the sky is blue doesn't mean the sky isn't blue. Go outside and look for yourself!
Go to Northeast Intelligence Network. Browse around. See the quality of the material posted there, and then decide for yourself. If you are like 99.9% of FReepers, you will conclude that they are unreliable. If you don't, well, I guess you have a new source of news which you find reliable. Just don't expect the rest of us to stop ridiculing you when you cite them.
It's Francis!!
looks more like Quentin Tarantino
He is CLEARLY an Amish militant...
"Don't be a jerk."
Now there's an intelligent, well-reasoned, mature comment.
"Just because somebody doesn't bother to prove to you that the sky is blue doesn't mean the sky isn't blue. Go outside and look for yourself!"
I wasn't asking for proof the sky is blue...I was asking for some source for comments.
Johnny didn't provide any...neither did you.
Intelligent posters usually base their comments on documented sources....
"Just don't expect the rest of us to stop ridiculing you when you cite them."
Don't expect me to not "call" you on your ignorance and sophmoric tactics...
I couldn't agree with you more - SUPERB post!
Thanks for the info on the Northeast Intelligence Network
Hmmmm!!!!
On my radio news this am. And in the Philly paper.
Could be a nutjob who used islamist techniques or had an interest in islamist causes. Doesn't look like a trained, coordinated AQ attack.
I don't think the muslim angle is proven yet. Just rumor. There are reports he had islamist materials in his room, but they are not confirmed.
That's what I think. This guy could well be interested in Islamist terrorism. But I doubt he was trained and recruited by AQ or any similar group.
We can do very little about the random crazy who wants to kill himself and maybe take a few out himself. Look at the guy who drove his car into the crowd in Las Vegas. He heard voices. Didn't matter if the voices came from Osama or his dog, he was a ticking time bomb. No pun intended!
That is in the same great category of the old VW ad stating that Mary Jo K would survived Ted Kennedy and his canal drive if she had been in a Volkswagen.
see #61. FR doesn't trust 'em.
He could have been trying to damage the KU team busses. Kind of thing a (drunk) college student might find amusing. Especially an engineer who likes to build things.
