Based on Roberts' past performance on the DC Appeals court and his answers at his confirmation hearing, I'm optimistic.

So am I, but optimistic is not the same as sure. Bush promised Scalia/Thomas and so far we have "trust me" 1 and 2. Maybe they turn out fine, and I'll love them. However, there were better paper trails in the wings. This is just how I feel. I'm just one lone voice at a keyboard, so it really does not matter that much what I think. ;-)

Ditto here. I just think it's a bit soon for us to be collectively slashing our wrists.

Here's to optimism and perseverance. Slow and steady wins the race. I know that "slow" is maddening, but...

You know, if GOD says "trust me", I'm inclined to go along with that, Him being the Almighty Deity, and all that. But when a man, even a President, even one I like and support most of the time, says it, the first time, maybe. But on the second time, I'm sorry, I'm gonna need a little proof.

All I'm saying to the President is...Help me, help you.
