Maybe the previous poster was referring to the comparable fact that Rehnquist graduated #1 from Stanford law and she graduated from SMU.
Those are about the same, aren't they?
There are many brilliant legal minds who matriculated at non-Ivy League institutions, and there is something to be said for choosing a person who hasn't spent over four years being indoctrinated by the faculty of Harvard Law School.
However, I defy anyone to claim that there aren't dozens-if not hundreds-of men and women who have comparable educational backgrounds and who are just as qualified-if not more so-to serve in this capacity.
