Well, again I do not disagree. I hope this will not turn out to be the dissapointment that it might appear to be.
I do, however, think that there is something underlying all of this that we cannot now see.

I spent the weekend reassuring my wife and two local activists that the president would do the right thing, what with the wealth of solid talent we had out there.
Today all the enthusiasm has been sucked right from every republican I have spoken to today. At the best I am getting excuses or apologies for the pick.
This was supposed to be a day of triomph, instead we snatch mediocraty from the jaws of greatness, again...
