Do you research, she isn't how some are portraying her here, and the Dem reaction is likely going to quickly change.

After reading more about her and her church (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1495754/posts) I think it is very likely that she is a quiet pro-life evangelical conservative. There are many, many good churches here in Dallas, so many large ones that you can find any that fits your beliefs and don't have to waste time in those where your beliefs would be marginalized. Valley View Christian Church is a conservative evangelical church. Years ago there was a big split in the Christian Church, with the majority going to the more socially liberal Disciples of Christ wing, while Valley View went with the socially conservative side, somewhat comparable to the Presbyterian Church in America (as opposed to the liberal PC-USA), Churches of Christ, and conservative Southern Baptist congregations.

Of course church membership doesn't offer a guaranteed understanding of an individual's view on all issues, but given all the options in Dallas, it may be quite telling.

Disciples of Christ here in Nashville are fighting over homosexual clergy right now and one of the more prominant ones....Woodmont Christian Church is having an exodus.

I'm not sure though that the splinter church you are decribing is very conservative. I just looked at the "what we believe" page on their site.

They are not literalist at all.

I'd give them about a 6.

I'm sure. That's what happened with Roberts but he still got a lot of Dem votes and so will this gal. Janice Roger Brown (for example) would have received zero Dem votes and would have been one of many much better choices.

Bush simply took the easy course. Just like he does with the biggest Pork Barrel Congress in history. The same Congress that is failing to end the Death Tax. He has ruined the Republican's reputation as the guardians of the peoples money and now he has sold out to the Major Media by refusing to nominate a "controversial" solid conservative judge to the Supreme Court. He is shown to be a fool by the Dems and the Media.

He has lost my support and I suspect the support of many other as well. This will cost the Republicans seats in both the House and the Senate. An unmotivated base is death to a political party.
