According to local reports, he had moved out of a reportedly nice frat house and into a rather dingy, run-down apartment earlier this year. PKM might know more about this.
Sounds to me (ok, I happily accept the tinfoil hat) as though some radical Islamics saw in this guy a good bombmaker and stooge, and put him up to this. Just my theory. Some reports (links in above posts) suggest they might have found Islamic literature (probably in English--no indication he spoke or wrote in other than English) in his apartment, but no confirmation in any of the news.
Let's face it, no young flyover country boy would choose this method of suicide without some help.

Very interesting that he recently moved to this apartment from a Frat House.....yet the Frat House Pres doesn't indicate any incidents....money issue?
His Dad would likely have some ideas on that.....how was the young one paying for his college expenses I wonder?

I will confirm those apartments are crappy -- been in them. The other OU apartments are much, much nicer.
Lot of the kids on campus are not buying into the lone suicide victim. Most think he blew himself up accidentally when arming device before halftime. No one blows themself up and leaves that much expolosive material for the next time. After seeing the latest picture of him, people I talked to on campus believe he is not ordinary white kid who was depressed on campus that just happened to blow himself up.
One theory I heard is that going into the stadium, they don't pat your down but they do look in backpacks. Did he have this device on him ready to take off and leave somewhere when the crowds come out at halftime? First half ran longer then normal.
Also heard an interview on 930 a.m. where they said he talked about ammunition and blowing things up which they thought he was just being strange. Talked about making ammunition for the Government also. BTW, they turned in another kid like him today as they got skittish.
