WASHINGTON — 'FOX NEWS SUNDAY' HOST CHRIS WALLACE: We are joined now by our exclusive guest this Sunday, Congressman Tom DeLay, who had to step down this week as House majority leader after being indicted on a charge of criminal conspiracy.

Congressman, welcome.

REP. TOM DELAY, R-TEXAS: Thank you, Chris.

WALLACE: Thank you for talking with us.

DELAY: Thanks for the opportunity.

WALLACE: There's a lot of talk this week from Republicans and from the media that the DeLay era, as they call it, is over, that you will never again be, perhaps, the most powerful man on Capitol Hill.

Are you done as a major force in Congress?

DELAY: Oh, I don't think so.

This is a frivolous indictment. I am indicted just for the reason to make me step aside as majority leader. This is politics at its sleaziest, and people will recognize that and see it for what it is.

The "evidence" that Wallace presented to DeLay as proof of DeLay's in depth involvement into the PAC was a joke. There was some fundraising note that mentioned DeLay's involvement in the PAC (fundraisers, phone calls to raise funds, strategy)...someone let Wallace know strategy does not equate to hands on day-to-day running of operations. The other item was a memo where DeLay asked who was going to be at a meeting he was attending. Yeah, so? DeLay says he always asked for a list of attendees for every meeting who goes to. That is a surprise. I can't remember the 3rd item, but it was just as lame.

I think the lawyers (both GOP and Dem) figured out how to legally get funds to the candidates. Nothing unusual or strange was done (it appears). And DeLay was not even knowledgeable about the transaction until after the fact (unless he is lying, but it does not appear that he is).

This is the one Sunday show I might watch if Wallace wasn't such a stiff. What were they thinking......

Wallace is not very good. They should have Hume do the show. Plus that way it would be easier for Brit to reach over to slap Juan.

Good interview on DeLay's part. He was asked a series of strong questions and answered them very well.

Speaking of which wonder why none of the conservatives brought up the founding believers belief of the inferiority of blacks, and Sanger's ideas where used by southern demo rats and nazis to subjugate the so called inferior races.

I know the answer cause it doesn't mean a thing to a liberal or a TV commentator.

You have to give credit to DeLay...he is a fighter and is not going to sit back and let the Dems "define" him.

excuse me the founding fathers did believe in the inferiority of blacks only counting as 3/5's a person, but meant to say Planned Parenthood, and its founding fathers, you know the eugenics organization, whose stated mission in the 30's was to get rid of the inferior races.

Doing a pretty good job aren't they.
