Something for China to worry about.
Personally Ive said the story is unlikely all along. I just don't believe the military would leave the dolphins wearing the armed harnesses while they wern't training let alone with a hurricane bearing down on them.
For that matter would the military even use armed dolphins in training.

It took 2 1/2 weeks for the ChiComs to pick this story up??I'm surprised too, cause they love these kind of stories. I wonder what the chinese-language version of this story says. I can hear the guy-on-the-street now: "those warmongering Americans! - forcing peaceful dolphins to become killers!"

No wonder the casinos in Biloxi are going to be on land now instead of floating out on the water.

Leaving them armed seems to be the pantload part of this legend. Training with armed Dolphins also seems to be somewhat suspicious. I think we will find this story will turn out to be total urban legend. It has all the markers. Disaster strikes an area. More bad things happen to compound the problems. Government and military programs endanger the already ravaged populace.

Ditto
It would be like the navy leaving nuclear tipped torpedoes on the docks and forgetting about them.
The navy tends to move valuable assets out of the way of hurricanes. Since this unit has access to planes and used to travel the world's hot spots at a moments notice,I tend to think they were moved and just didn't alert the media for every movement(bowel or otherwise) they make.
No story here.
