There hasn't been a single President in the television age (and by this I mean going back to 1960 -- the first year that television audiences exceeded radio audiences in the U.S.) that didn't have a full head of hair and a clean-shaven face. Every one of them was relatively tall, too.

It's become part of the job description for the White House, and I'm sure Rudy Giuliani knows this better than anyone else.

You're right.

But here is the exception.

Except for political junkies- and Reagan the movie star- most Americans don't know the candidates until they gather political momentum. It's a catch 22, because to gather that political momentum you need to be somewhat attractive.

Everyone already knows Giuliani. His looks don't matter. He seems taller.

Success and celebrity is an aphrodisiac.

Hillary will be using the same formula on the other side. She will use it to crush any Republican candadate not in her league. And few are.

The Clintons are looking for Republicans to nominate a Bob Dole. Make their day. Or make that their eight years.
