Because he is a "Superstar!" About 1 million more times brighter than GWB when he ran for his first term. Of course you know this. Others on this string apparently don't see the obvious. He would be good for the country on balance and especially re the GWOT. The Congress is where the action should be. Giuliani would be more likely to appoint Conservative judges, too. To do otherwise would mean further erosion of the Executive. Conservative / strict constructionist jurists are deferrential to the Executive, liberal jurists are not. Politics is about complicated balances and the art of the possible. Rudi is more possible than any other Republican candidate.

Never underestimate the ability of Republicans to nominate a sacrificial lamb like Bob Dole. As long as he says the right things.
Social conservatives love Bush. I still wonder how that love has been returned in practice.
