I've never done this before and forgive me if I get it wrong.
We found out a couple of hours ago that our elder daughter went to Bali with friends without telling us. We haven't heard from her since the bombings (or at all, for that matter).
Logically, objectively, we know the odds are immensely against her being caught up in this. But logic and objectivity only go so far.
And it's driving me crazy. And my wife. And our other kids.
Prayers and good thoughts on the way.
Prayers sent for your daughter. And good thoughts toward our Austrailian friends is the norm around here.
Prayers going up!
I certainly hope she and her friends are alright. Sorry I missed the bit about you being Australian.
Do you know if she and her friends were part of a larger group? You might ask a travel agency for info on group tours that were scheduled to leave when your daughter did or about tours in Bali. Course she will probably call soon and be totally surprised that you were even worried about her. " Why should I have called, I knew I was ok."
Why parents have grey hairs. Reason 145.

She's OK - just received a very brief phonecall. She and her friends are OK - not in the area, only just found out what had happened.
I have other parents to phone.
Thank you all.
May the LORD, in Jesus Name, have your daughter contact you asap.

Great news.......
THANKS, LORD!
Thank You.
Thank You for the good news.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and good wishes, now I have time to say a proper thank you.
They are all OK, and were quite a distance from the bombings - far enough away that they didn't know what had happened, and didn't have phone coverage anyway. It seems that a Canadian in the area let them know and let them use his satellite phone to contact us. I've spoken to the other girls parents (none of us knew our kids had gone to Bali - in this situation are 22 years olds too old to spank?) and one of them is arranging for an expat who is a friend of his to drive up and fetch them and help them figure out how to get back to Australia as fast as possible).
Thank you all so much.
I felt like asking earlier why do we have kids. Well, at the moment, I can really really remember why.
Knowing she is safe is the most incredible feeling imaginable.
Great news! Thanks
If I only pray for her after the fact, can I still share in the thanks?
;O)
Truly good news! Now put her away in a convent until she's thirty! : )
"Knowing she is safe is the most incredible feeling imaginable."
Good for you and praise unto the good Lord for allowing them to be far away from that terrible act.
How wonderful!
God Bless and thank you for the update.
(I bet she'll never ever NOT tell you where she is going again... consider it a mental spanking LOL).
