I have spent time with Pres. Boren, too, as well as his wife, Molly, and have always enjoyed them, one on one. They are very gracious people.

When I lived in OK, I was *supposed* to not like him, being the lifelong Pubbie that I am, but I always did. He liked the oil business, which was my livelihood at the time--and is again now, by accident; he was a military hawk, fiscal conservative; and after I moved back to Houston, I remember he was one of the few Dems who voted for Justice Thomas.

His wife was a PR client of mine, as head of several boards of my client organizations and companies. And his brother was my chili-cooking mentor!

I always thought David Boren would have made a good Republican.

I met him on a street corner in Durant, Oklahoma years ago, I think it was 1973. He stopped me and introduced himself. I asked where he intended to use the broom he was carrying. He said to sweep the corruption out of the state house.

I met him a couple of time more and again at the Oklahoma City Petroleum Club during lunch. We had a good laugh about his Broom Brigade.

He is a nice guy I just don't like his choice of political parties.

I am a lifelong Republican and Vice Chair of our County Party but I think David Boren and his wife are class acts. I feel for him right now facing all of the questions with very few answers.
