Due west, pointed right at Gittenger Hall, where I attend my Monday class. When I arrived for class, cops and suits were looking the area over, by the little red flags (probably debris locations).
A little north of due west, this time from the stadium parking garage, 4th floor. The bench is near the stair well, the southernmost part of Cross Hall i the photo, on the other side of the trees.

I realized through the days more precisely where the bench must have been. I'd only been to the game on a "fun bus" maybe a couple of times, but I was picturing us parking on Asp, before the parking garage was built.
Then I remembered it was the Oval that was the pavement my bus was on--because of the hundreds of times I had cut through right there, walking to the stadium, either from parking at frat house or just coming from the Union--and seeing all the buses in that spot.
Also friends would bring RV's and serve adult beverages there sometimes (enclosed tailgating) and I just had mentally skipped over the area in between the Oval and the stadium, because it's so close.
I love to walk the campus this time of year and later! (Since I no longer have classes to attend, you understand!) Thanks for the memories! Hope to have more of them to add soon, when I can get back up there.
