NEW YORK A Queens man was charged Saturday with murdering his live-in girlfriend during a fight in their apartment, the latest twist in a weeklong mystery that began when the slain woman's 4-year-old daughter was found wandering barefoot and alone in the middle of the night, authorities said.
Cesar Ascarrunz (search), 32, was arrested on murder charges two days after he was picked up by investigators, police said. The defendant allegedly confessed to the crime, and acknowledged putting his girlfriend's body into a trash bag and dumping it on a corner in Queens.
Police were still searching Saturday for the remains of Monica Lozada (search), 26, who was last seen alive on Sept. 24.
Investigators were led to Ascarrunz by a dozen tips that came in from the public after 4-year-old Valerie Lozada (search) appeared on television Thursday, describing her mother as looking "like a princess." The little girl remained in a foster home Saturday.
"This child has captured the hearts of all New Yorkers," said Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown (search). "I hope she can grow up to lead a normal life."

I'm a sucker for 'those' stories. I kept thinking, oooh what did he do to that poor woman that he is claiming someone else did for him. I almost laughed when he said "well I had to go to the chiropractor" it just seemed like such a dumb detail to have to get in there. I have a feeling he had something to do with her demise, but I hope I'm wrong. I find it interesting his dad - Francis' 'boyfriend' didn't have anything to say.
One of the other things that emerges from the interviews I have seen with this adorable young girl is that her mother apparently was really doing a good job in raising her - (that is until this last part of pickin a boyfriend who turned out to be a evil bum).
Murder, domestic violence, unmarried mothers, immigrants, orphans, child abandonment.
All of the above were in existence before the 1960s. Don't blame society. Blame the guy who did it, Cesar whatever.
He did. But then it was declared unconstitutional last year, and Pataki let the issue die.
Damn.
I have 2 better-than-average job possibilities in upstate NY when I finish my doctorate. My FReeper son doesn't want me to go because of NY's gun control laws. This will really put him over the edge. : )
And I don't blame society. I blame Liberalism.
Pataki didn't fight for the death penalty because it isn't popular in NYC. Recently the liberal NY County DA, Morgenthau, defeated his opponent, Leslie Snyder, also a liberal, partly because she was only "99% opposed" to the death penalty.

Yep, murderers murder regardless of who and what they are.
Some of Americas notorious serial killers were married family men like the BTK freak or that Green River killer. Thankfully both creatures are in prison.
There's another story in Texas, where a mother and her 12 year old son were kidnapped by the stepfather. They found the boy's body just off main street in Lancaster,Tx. No word on the whereabout of the 2 adults. Alot of meaness going on out there lately.(Sorry no source avail.)
Bless her heart.
