Washington -- House Republicans struggled Thursday to regain their political balance, one day after House Majority Leader Tom DeLay relinquished his leadership position after being indicted by a grand jury in his home state of Texas.
As he worked to unite the party and turn its attention back to the legislative agenda, Rep. Roy Blunt of Missouri, DeLay's successor as majority leader, faced ethics questions himself.
Records on file with the Federal Election Commission show that since 2003, Blunt's political action committee has paid $94,000 in salary to the consulting firm of Jim Ellis, a longtime associate of DeLay. Ellis has been indicted in the same case as DeLay, for allegedly conspiring to illegally influence the outcome of Texas legislative elections by channeling corporate money to Republican candidates. [snip]
Blunt reportedly also has had an uneasy relationship with DeLay, who has been his political mentor and rival. Several Republican lawmakers and staffers, speaking on condition of anonymity, said DeLay viewed Blunt as unable to deliver on some key votes during his tenure as whip -- a post at which DeLay was a master before he became majority leader.

BIAS ANYONE?
Not for nothin', but there seems to be a confrontational tone in this post. Somehow methinks that the DUmpster link is being gleefully watched.
Time for your afternoon Aids Cocktail.
Just what I was thinking. I read about Puce Pelosi doing the same thing as DeLay but will we hear from MSM or will Puce resign? No!
Quit acting like these people can be accomodated--CRUSH THEM.
THEY WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER relent from calling conservatives racists, hatemongers, murderers, and war profiteers. NEVER. SO ROLL OVER THEM, CONSERVATIVE REPRESENTATIVES...FULFILL THE WISHES OF THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED YOU TO OFFICE!!
"LOL...Republicans are going to have to fight back--quit standing flat footed and start shoving good legislation through the halls of Congress."
Right. Ann Coulter had the right idea on Larry King Alive, when she brought up Hillary's million dollar campaign scandal. When will the GOP realize that covering for the rats' crimes will only be rewarded with backstabs? Idiots. Instead they wine and dine, and help the rat criminals shine.
And your point in posting this redundant, waste of time crapola.
Wouldn't be pushin your psychological warfare, now wouldya?
Not to mention Pelosigate.
Yes Pelosigate included....
Ten years ago the GOP took the high ground with the Contract for America. You might want to review it:
# FIRST, require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress;
# SECOND, select a major, independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of Congress for waste, fraud or abuse;
# THIRD, cut the number of House committees, and cut committee staff by one-third;
# FOURTH, limit the terms of all committee chairs;
# FIFTH, ban the casting of proxy votes in committee;
# SIXTH, require committee meetings to be open to the public;
# SEVENTH, require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase;
# EIGHTH, guarantee an honest accounting of our Federal Budget by implementing zero base-line budgeting.
THAT was what gave the GOP control of Congress.
Is your post meant for me?
What did my comments have to do with the Contract with America, which was voted on and passed within 100 days by the US House of Representatives, as promised.
