That Famous Equation and You This is one of the best explanations of Einstein's derivation of relativity and the relation between energy and mass that you're likely to find. It was on the NY Times OpEd page, and it was their most Emailed story when I last looked. I am hoping that someone, with an un blemished posting record, posts it in the editorial sidebar. If I did it, I might be banned for good.
