Wait until all of that Socialist-built civil infrastructure gets just a little bit older....

Even brand new apartment buildings going up right now in Russia look fifty years old. It's kind of weird.

There was a joke from the Soviet era. Q: If an earthquake like the one at Tashkent [1966] hit Leningrad, what would you have left? A: St. Petersburg.

The point was that at Tashkent, buildings from the Soviet era fell, while older ones stood.

That is because the place is still ran by (Ex) socialist and communist freaks. Putin is former KGB, it does not suprise me that the socialist system still remains in some fashion.
