ARTICLE SNIPPET: "NORMAN - The FBI has found no evidence so far that a University of Oklahoma student who died in a bombing Saturday night tried to get inside the football stadium or had ties to any terrorist organization, officials said Tuesday.
The FBI also has found no evidence anyone else was involved, officials said. Still, OU plans to tighten security at upcoming football games. Fans can expect bags and purses to be checked more closely.
They should come a little earlier, OU President David Boren said. Be patient with us - know its only for their safety that were being very, very thorough.
Fans also will not be allowed to leave at the half on passes and return.
Joel Joe Henry Hinrichs III is believed to have died in an explosion about 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a campus bench about 100 yards from the packed Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Investigators are treating the death as a suicide.
OU was playing Kansas State before more than 80,000 fans. The game was in the second quarter. The blast could be heard inside the stadium.
Explosives later were removed from the students university-owned apartment."

"Sources Identify TATP As Component Of Bomb TATP Same Component Used By Infamous Shoe Bomber"
POSTED: 9:56 pm CDT October 4, 2005 UPDATED: 10:11 pm CDT October 4, 2005
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "NORMAN, Okla. -- Sources confirmed Tuesday night that at least one of the components in the bomb used by Joel Henry Hinrichs III Saturday night was a product called TATP.
Technically, TATP is triacetone triperoxide. However, it's called the 'Mother of Satan' by Islamist extremists. Experts say it is made by mixing common household items such as drain cleaner and bleach to create a white powder with a strong smell.
It's so volatile that it can explode even if it's merely dropped. It can even explode spontaneously, experts say.
There have been very few reports of TATP being used in the United States; however, there have been more documented cases overseas -- including Richard Reid, who was arrested after he used TATP in his shoe and tried to light it on a flight."

"Car bomb kills two Colombian children, one man"
04 Oct 2005 19:51:18 GMT
Source: Reuters
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "BOGOTA, Colombia, Oct 4 (Reuters) - A car bomb killed two children and their uncle as they walked along a mountain road in rural southern Colombia, police said on Tuesday, blaming the deaths on a bungled attempt by Marxist rebels to kill security force members.
The car bomb that exploded late on Monday was probably left on the side of the road near the town of Florida, in Cauca province, by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, as a trap for passing military patrols, police said."

"FARC had major plan to attack capital"
BY STEVEN DUDLEY
Knight Ridder Newspapers
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "BOGOTA, Colombia - (KRT) - When army officers found a document titled ''Comrade Manuel's Talking Points'' in an abandoned FARC rebel camp, they were startled by its frankness, if not its content.
Dated Oct. 7, 2002, it outlined the achievements claimed by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC for its acronym in Spanish, during the three years of peace talks with the government.
And it revealed much about the mind of FARC leader Manuel ''Sureshot'' Marulanda.
The peace talks had ended in failure that February and the government had retaken the Switzerland-sized territory in southeastern Colombia it had given to the FARC as a safe place for negotiations, complaining that the rebels had used it to keep kidnap victims, store weapons and launch hit-and-run attacks from there.
But Marulanda was happy: ''If we look at all the military and political points, we realize that without a doubt, we've achieved success,'' the document said."
