Take a look at the picture of the capitol when you get a chance. It certainly looks like an elaborate cake with the tiers of steps and wings. Had they hit that building, and I believe the Capitol Building was the target of BOTH planes which headed to DC, the combination would have destroyed just about destroyed all the major government buildings in the Capital including the Senate, House, Library of Congress and the Supreme Court.

I believe the Pentagon was hit because the pilot flinched and couldn't pull up from his dive. The laws of physics survive and so did DC.

We should be forever grateful to those folks who took the plane down in Pennsylvania.

I agree that the Capitol would have been a possible target.

If the 4th plane had not gone down where it did, the loss of life would have been much greater than it was.
