October 12, 2005 -- A toddler was fighting for his life in a Manhattan hospital last night against a food-borne illness that prompted fears he was sickened by a meal at the day-care center he attended, authorities said. A probe of the Kiddie Academy on Staten Island found no evidence of an outbreak of any food-borne diseases, health officials said leaving the question of just what sickened 22-month-old Joshua Salamanca unanswered.
The illness, hemolytic uremic syndrome, causes kidney failure and intense bleeding.
The Health Department contacted numerous parents at the center, but they found no evidence any food served at the school caused the illness.
But Joshua's mom, Melissa, said: "I think the Health Department is seriously covering up something."

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) - Syria's interior minister, who ran Lebanon for many years and was one of several top officials caught up in the U.N. probe of the slaying of that nation's former prime minister, died Wednesday. The country's official news agency said he committed suicide in his office.
The death of Brig. Gen. Ghazi Kenaan - just days before the final U.N. investigation report is due - was a new and startling sign of turmoil...

"NYC Mayor Not Sure Subway Threats Were Hoax"
Wednesday, October 12, 2005
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,171953,00.html
AP
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "NEW YORK -- Mayor Michael Bloomberg and police officials questioned reports on Tuesday that an alleged subway bomb plot that spread fear
through the city was a hoax.
"I don't know that it was confirmed that it was a hoax at all,"
Bloomberg said when asked about the reports by a cable news network and the
New York Post, which is owned by News Corp., the parent company of
FOXNews.com.
The reports, citing unnamed sources, claimed an informant in Iraq who
had told U.S. authorities about the possible threat by Al Qaeda later
admitted he made it up.
The informant's allegation prompted city and FBI officials last week to
issue a dire public warning and to flood the subway system with
thousands of extra police officers.
After four days of high alert, the officials announced Monday there was
no clear evidence an attack would be carried out and scaled back the
protection.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, appearing with Bloomberg at a
hospital groundbreaking in Harlem, said the informant could not have recanted
because U.S. authorities in Iraq had lost track of him.
"As far as we know right now, the source is not in custody," he said."
That sounds almost like my tagline du jour. I got it from a miniseries about the theater, in which a director admits to feeling as though his sanity is hanging by a thread. "Oddly enough," he says, "Some of the best things happen just before that thread snaps".
THE BEST THINGS...key words.
Dear Lord,
Thank you Jesus for ExSoldier and his wife, Cathy.
Cathy has suffered an emergency illness.
Please comfort her.
Please guide the doctors, nurses and caregivers
as they work on her.
I ask all of this in Your precious name, Lord.
Amen.
Ditto to your post and that is exactly what my husband and I discussed.
and Amen.

My first thought, "oh, just the same as the exploding electric transformer, in San Jose, Calif. a couple days ago".....
Your post on the sick children, gives me chills.
Does it have something to do with the people who are eating and not observing ramadan?
Making 200 Air Force ill, is not hard to figure out.
There have been threats to our children.
Food tampering is easier than Beslan, Russia school.
It was going on before 9-11, about 1999, I was picking up
news reports of all 500 people getting "food Poisoning" at
a New Jersey Company picnic. (Think it was New Jersey, not
sure on the year, about then).
There were several reports of fancy get togathers that all
got sick at, which had been catered.
One was blamed on the shrimp salad... I keep thinking of all
the stuff that I would not choose on a buffet table, and know that there is no way that 500 people all ate out of every dish.
I would not have chosen the fish dishes and would have passed on the chicken, my brother would have had both.
There are coverups going on and will continue to do so.
I am hearing more bio weapons and nuclear talk and public service announcements on the radio, the liberals are of course saying it isn't true, but a few callers will allow for the dangers coming our way.
Rarely does Legionaires or Norovirus hit a group that is not a high class group, in a resort or convention setting.
As usual I have the questions, not the answers.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, appearing with Bloomberg at a
hospital groundbreaking in Harlem, said the informant could not have
recanted
because U.S. authorities in Iraq had lost track of him.
"As far as we know right now, the source is not in custody," he said."<<<<<<
the above was why I posted that post.
Why don't we have him? Where is he? Is the statement true?
Why? Why? Why?

Trivia can be interesting...THANKS Oorang.
Thanks...as always, your thoughts on these things help confirm the gut feelings that I have about these incidents. I like to defer to those, like you, who have more life experence to keep me grounded. But the timing of some of these & ramaden & Iraqui Constitution, etc., make me delve deeper and put the puzzle pieces together in more than one way.
Thanks for that update Oorang.
UPDATES always appreciated.
Man Arrested, Charged in Jet Joy Ride (10/12/05)
PIMPLE-FACED JET JOY RIDER CHARGED...
A man was arrested on charges of stealing a charter jet and taking it on a 350-mile joy ride from Florida to Georgia, police said Wednesday.
The circumstances of the theft were not clear, but nothing threatening was found on the plane, police spokesman Darren Moloney said. The incident "appears to be a joy ride."
Daniel Andrew Wolcott, 22, of Buford was charged with felony theft and misdemeanor reckless conduct, police said, adding that additional federal charges were expected.
Investigators said they made the arrest after interviewing five people who said they were on the 10-passenger, $7 million Cessna Citation 7 when Wolcott flew it.
The plane, which is owned by Pinnacle Air of Springdale, Ark., was found Monday at the Gwinnett County Airport-Briscoe Field near Atlanta, police said. Moloney said a key is not needed to start the plane. The plane has a lock on the door, but it isn't difficult to pry open, he said.
Wolcott has a commercial rated pilots license but is not licensed to fly that type of plane, police said. The exact circumstances of how Wolcott obtained the plane were unclear.
Bryan Cooper, assistant manager at St. Augustine Airport, said the plane was still there at midnight Saturday but was gone by 5 a.m. The plane landed at Gwinnett sometime between 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday. It had some damage to the front edge of one wing.
Nothing to see here folks...most 22 year-olds can just grab a jet and fly it at night...just like riding a bike.
