I always say I'm never going to watch Matthews but I did catch that when I got home yesterday. He let Green spew his BS and then tore him up.

I must give Chris Matthews full credit for asking a tough question of an interviewee. Of course, what makes this stand out is a longstanding failure on Matthews' part as with his colleagues to do this in the past. The missed opportunities are legion. However, good behavior should be rewarded and encouraged. It may surprise Matthews to know that he would gain our respect if he did this consistently, regardless of the party of his guest. I don't mean gotcha questioning but rather tough questioning that shows prep-work in understanding the issue and being relevant with the followup.

Chris must be back on the wagon.

The Dems are in DEEP trouble if he, former aide to Tip O'Neil, is not swallowing their talking points.

How refreshing it is to see a genuine lib who can stay on point and on the facts. But I wouldn't expect a conversion here. Sometimes it is tactical to retreat and pounce again later. Besides, it doesn't hurt him if it gives him an audience bump. Even NPR will throw family conservatives a bone every now and then, especially during fundraising season.

The unusual thing about Matthews is that what he followed up on is in fact unusual.
It's a start, let's see how long this unusual (but factual)questioning lasts.

The Dims set their corruption mantra in place, with the bogus Delay indictment, and then starting calling all the unemployed Dim salespeople and warned them they had to help sell the new mantra or $$$ would not come their way next time. Green is one of their unemployed salesmen hoping to earn some new street creds.

Maybe he was asking that question because he really did wanna know if there was a conviction. That way he'd have a conviction that he could attribute to the Bush admin.

I don't trust this guy and wouldn't advise anyone to take this one example of an actual "hardball" question and think it's ok to watch this show from now on.

He knows that this is a losing strategy for the dems and wants it to stop now. The American people are a sound bite society, but most of them have it firmly entrenched in their minds that fairness dictates that you are innocent until proven guilty. The dems have trashed a lot of traditions in the last 5 years, but this is going way too far.

Mark Green is the Tom Hayden of New York. He supposedly big promising future as The Liberal Leader in New York politics, but like Hanoi Jane's Hayden, turns out to be nothing but a windbag with no backbone, no constituency, and NO future.

Sorry...this is chrissy's MO...called good cop bad cop. OH How many times have I seen chrissy do just this. When in fact it's only a ploy...he already had this set up with interviewee...don't be FOOLED....Bringing up this issue sticks in the minds of the viewers even though chrissy knocks it down...means little...it's already in the mind of the viewers. This is exactly the WHY of that issue....

I've been sucked in many times by this crapola. I learned, once I learned I NEVER WATCHED HIM AGAIN...he's nothin' but a dembo political hack....

Remember Chrissy was with the commie carter WH, and to this day thinks carter did wonders for America...what did that communist do for America???

Thank God our next President was Ronald Reagan and turned this country back toward what our founders gave us.

I don't care for Chris Matthews. He is a liberal, but not a complete moron. He sees the writing on the wall and knows damned well the DeLay indictment stinks to high heaven and is trying not to lose all credibility by pointing out the obvious.

It's sad that we have to give the man praise for doing his %8#@ing job!

Punch Nancy Pelosi and PAC into Google and see what you come up with.

Why you get a story where her PAC was fined 21K by the election commission for various nefarious crimes that Tom Delay's supposed do not even come close to.

Can you say hypocrisy?

This was just a ploy (Chrissy's and MSNBC's) to attract conservative viewership to the ratings-challenged DNC talking-point show. But consider who the "sacrificial" snake was....a 'washed-up loser' from their side. Not exactly Howard Dean or Ted Kennedy or the regulars Howard Fineman and Maureen o'Dowd.
