DeLay Lawyer Has Beaten DA Before

Austin, Texas -- U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay's indictment sets up a rematch between a Texas prosecutor and an old rival who has beaten him before.

High-profile Houston lawyer Dick DeGuerin was pulled into the DeLay defense team as it became clear he would be indicted Wednesday. DeLay is accused of conspiring with two political associates to use corporate donations to support Texas legislative candidates.

DeGuerin quickly reminded the public he had been down a similar road with Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle.

"I represented Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison 12 years ago, and to me this seems like what Yogi Berra said: `It's deja vu all over again,'" DeGuerin said. "That was a political prosecution. This is a political prosecution."

I'm so glad. I hope he kicked his butt again. This is a political witch hunt – the Liberals' best destruction tool. There is nothing here, except bringing a good man down for political expediency. I hope Earle fails greatly.

I am waiting for Earle to be indicted (namely for impersonating a human being).

I just noticed my post #3.

It should read: I hope he “kicks” his butt again.

On a serious not, Earle's actions are bordering on harassment. He is wasting court time with this piffle and he is wasting the rate payers' money.

Also, Earle rants about money in politics, but I do not see him trying to "bring to heel" George "Pimp Daddy" Soros. Oh, that's right, money is only evil in the hands of conservatives.

Argh!

The first sentence should read:
"On a serious note, Earle's actions are bordering on harassment."

The Dumocrats have been after Tom D for a long time, simply he is effective is the best friend to the Second Amendment there is. The Dems are going to get slammed again and I hope before the next Federal election.

Ronnie Earle, now there is a liberal redneck name if I ever heard one.

One of my rules in life is this:

Anyone who is a victim of Molly Ivins' ire is a person who generally deserves my respect.

You might think that after failing miserably with Kay Bailey Hutchison he might retire and get the heck out of there.

DeGuerin is the best liberal Democrat white collar criminal defense lawyer money can buy in Texas.

Molly ivens (sic) slimed DeGuerin today, so he must be a great lawyer.

Ironically his politics are probably more similar to Molly Ivins' than Tom DeLay's.

I like Sean Hannity's theory this week that the guy should be disbarred.

Not only has he done this before (trumped up fake charges)....he shot his mouth off trashing DeLay and bragging that he was gonna take him down THIS YEAR AT A DEMOCRAT FUNDRAISER.

He managed to shake down those other corporation he had indicted for a few hundred Benjamins, Told them he would drop the charges if they would make three figure donations to his favorite charities, which just happened to be "BIG" RAT money givers. They made, he dropped, extortion appears to be an inherent RAT disease.
