TIFTON, Ga. Sep 30, 2005 — Five men were killed and four others were critically wounded in a series of attacks at trailer parks in and around the city, authorities said Friday.

Investigators are piecing together a description of suspects in the killings, which took place late Thursday or early Friday, said Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead.

Bankhead said it was not immediately clear how the victims were killed or why.

Anyone have more information on this? Sounds bizarre; I'm headed to Valdosta to meet some friends, and they aren't sure what the situation is, either.

At first I thought a trailer park was attacking people. That was really bizarre.

Snapped under the strain of tornadoes.

I think we are in for a lot of violence over drugs now that the New Orleans territory is closed and there are a lot of displaced drug dealers fignhing over the existing markets.

That's possible. But normally, meth shootings leave one or two folks dead. Five dead and four critically-injured is quite a toll.

I'm sure there was an SUV involved.

SUV's kill people all the time. Should trailer parks be held back just because of their redneck associations?

Reads like gang warfare has made inroads in So. Georgia.

The US army occupation forces have been in Georgia since they invaded 140 years ago, and they still haven't stopped the killing. It is time to devise a viable exit strategy.

wouldn't surprise me if you are correct. Tifton is not too far north of my butt's current location, and "meth" is not unknown there.
