He told police he thought he saw an animal when he fired the shots... worth 2 + years (say 6 months inside) and loss of right to bear arms forever unless there were extenuating circumstances - the victim was in cammo or something, then maybe less time., and he didn't call for help after seeing Hammes because he feared he would get in trouble..... 10 + years at least. Just my opinion.

Since not calling guaranteed the death of the victim, can anyone explain how a deliberate act (the decision not to call for help) causing death isn't first degree murder?
