You're welcome. As an Air Force mom and former AF wife--I have been there done that! It's the best place to be, in my opinion! I'm sure Lady X will laugh at that! Such the Marine she is! LOL!
Thanks to all the sacrifices of Military families
P.S. LadyX, read on FR that your Marine buddy, Racebannon is in China.
Racebannon, let us know how you are doing.
Okay - I began as a Marine - married a Navy hospital corpsman - 'had gone overboard,' and detached after 4 years.
Three years later, met present husband (of 44 years).
He happened to be going through Basic Training at Parris Island, we determined, when I was there in 1952 - went straight to combat in Korea, and was a POW.
Repatriated, and a year and a half later went into the Air Force as a neuropsychiatric technician.
Out after 4 years - back in AF again in 1961 (just before we married) until 1969, including a year of combat in Southeast Asia.
No. Two Son was in the Army - kinda - FAA training at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii meant no field or war games..:))
He after 9/11 sidestepped from FAA into the TSA at West Palm International Airport, and his government service is about 24 years - can retire 5 years from now.
HIS son is in the Air Force (7 years) at Colorado Springs.
My father was at Kelly Field, Texas in the Army Air Corps during WWI.
