They talk about record breaking price now, during the last 'warm' week of September. Imagine when energy traders at the NYMEX are schlepping through a half a foot of snow in the bitter cold heading down Wall Street. That type of bone chilling weather has a physiological 'bullish' effect in the trading pits.
I don't think we have seen nada yet with Natural Gas prices, nor trending chart tops in the rest of the energies. The weather may not be the only ingredient jacking up prices this winter. Iran, as in nuclear threat, I believe has the very real volatile potential of rocketing energy and metal prices through the roof.
I feel really fortunate to find a lumber yard in my area that still sells coal. It works out to about 70 cents a therm compared to my natural gas company that is going to charge me about 2 bucks a therm at todays prices.
