Kevorkian gives TV interview from prison

LAPEER, Mich. (AP) -- If released from prison, Jack Kevorkian plans to use the legal system to campaign for changes to assisted-suicide laws, the former doctor said in an interview from prison.

Kevorkian spoke with MSNBC's Rita Cosby during a televised interview that was scheduled to air on the network at 9 p.m. EDT Thursday.

In excerpts from the interview released to the media in advance of its airing, the 77-year-old said that if he is granted parole in 2007, his earliest possible release date, he plans to travel and visit family as well as resume his efforts to legalize assisted suicide.

But Kevorkian emphasized that he would not help those who want to die by breaking the law again, or encourage other doctors to do so until it's legal.

They had to go way out in the wilderness to get that interview. When it starts snowing again in MI I bet he disappears again.

Didn't he say he'd starve himself to death if sentenced to prison?

Crap.

I was just telling my wife last night that it was about time for that clown to reappear to get his next 15 minutes.

I'm sorry, it's all my fault.

Maybe I'll go out and wash my car so it can rain.

Wouldn't it poetic justice is some elderly, ghoulish looking doctor, (like himself), wearing a cape with syringe in hand walked into Dr. Jack's cell and said:
"You're old, suffering and in a hopeless situation, so I'm here to assist you" ?

Didn't this freak of nature promise that if he was imprisoned that he would starve himself to death, and thus the state would "assist in his suicide"? Guess he chickened out...

He'll be headin' on down to Pinellas County, Florida, I bet Suncoast Hospice has a job just waiting for a man of his particular talents. If not, there's a certain attorney, a man name of George Felos who would probably put him on the payroll. Hell, Felos probably has a little shrine built to Dr. Death that he genuflects to every day.

I think it would be better if some youngish punkish thirty-something with gang tatoos all over his arms and neck walked into his cell with a baton and said "Heeey mang, tieem for jew and me tooo haff some fon, mang." Sort of like what happend to that pedophile priest.

But I fear it won't happen. Nope, off to Pinellas County Florida, where they love his type, he will go.
