Read about Wahoo late last night. So sorry for the emotional roller coaster you've experienced.
Any explanation, anyone?
Thank you both for all that you add to the Finest, week in and week out.
She had it pulled because it wasn't formatted like she wanted it.
Dutchess and JH2, bravo! Excellent commentary and presentation! Always look forward to having my coffee with you two on Thursdays. :-)
Some numbers and dates over time become forged into the old brain... like SS number, military service number, birthdays and anniversaries, etc. Phone numbers don't count with the innovation of speed dialing.
Anyway, today's date marks one of those anniversaries. Thirty-eight years ago today, I saluted the Officer of the Deck and the Colors for the last time. With seabag over my shoulder, I walked across the brow to my ship as I ended my 4 year enlistment in the US Navy.
I'll be spending some time today looking through old photo albums from those good ol' days and share one of em with y'all...
Dolly is so good at making these great collages and it's plain to see how much she enjoys it!
The Album has actually been *up* for quite a while. :) We have a link to it every week on the TGIF threads! :)
Southeast Texas is primary working class and has an above average unemployment rate.
The biggest difference between Pt. Arthur/Beaumont and New Orleans (besides smarter elected officials, food and music) is lack of a good public transit system. That's why most poor people own cars.
Mary Poppins was traveling home, but due to worsening weather, she decided to stop at a hotel for the night. She approached the receptionist and asked for a room for the night.
"Certainly madam," he replied courteously.
"Is the restaurant open still?" inquired Mary.
"Sorry, no," came the reply, "but room service is available all night. Would you care to select something from this menu?"
Mary smiled and took the menu and perused it. "Hmm, I would like cauliflower cheese please," said Mary.
"Certainly, madam," he replied.
"And can I have breakfast in bed?" asked Mary politely.
The receptionist nodded and smiled.
"In that case, I would love a couple of poached eggs, please," Mary mused.
After confirming the order, Mary signed in and went up to her room for the night.
The night passed uneventful! y and the next morning Mary came down early to check out. The same guy was still on the desk.
"Morning madam...sleep well?"
"Yes, thank you," Mary replied.
"Food to your liking?"
"Well, I have to say the cauliflower cheese was exceptional, I don't think I have had better. Shame about the eggs, though....they really weren't that nice at all," replied Mary truthfully.
"Oh...well, perhaps you could contribute these thoughts to our Guest Comments Book. We are always looking to improve our service and would value your opinion," said the receptionist.
"OK, I will...thanks!" replied Mary....who checked out, then scribbled a comment into the book. Waving, she left to continue her journey.
Curious, the receptionist picked up the book to see the comment Mary had written.
"Supercauliflowercheesebuteggswerequiteatrocious!"
Ah...........thanks for letting me know.
Morning, lonestar. Are you back in your home again? Did any of the uprooted trees crash into your house? If you have posted an update of the condition in your town and your home in particular, I must have missed it. :( Hope that everything is okay where you are.
lol You all messed me up this morning what with the original thread getting pulled. I saw in My Comments only 3 posts and wondered what the heck!
Hope everyone is having a great day
That is so cute! LOL!
(Spoonerisms are my favorite kinds of jokes, Dolly. I have a number in my joke repertoire. :)
My photo is already in the album Dolly
:-)
I prefer my cauliflower stir fried, but like my eggs anyway but raw.
