Should we be worried about Russia becoming directly involved in a conflict with Iran? Or are they just trying to get as much cash as they can before the supply is cut off?

They just don't see America's enemies as their enemies. We could tell them that if they see weapons to Iran, we'll sell weapons to the Chechnyans. Maybe then they will understand our issue here.

Cash,

That's why they were against Iraq. Russia is a player in that whole region and has vested economic interests in keeping the status quo.

They see actions as in Iraq as an expansion of the US sphere of influence and this bothers them. This combined with East expansion of NATO, the presence of US troops in the Caucasus is stressing the relations a little.

No, expect no Russian direct action against us even if it comes to blows against Iran. This is just an opportunity where they can make a lot of money quickly and easily.
