SO I TRAVEL for eight hours overnight on a noisy, uncomfortable bus to join a massive antiwar protest in D.C. on Saturday, conservatively estimated as a crowd of 100,000 (and more, probably), and then, after miles of marching and another eight-hour ride back, I pick up The Sunday Globe and read a story on our protest on Page A6, just above a story of almost equal length about a couple of hundred counterprotesters.
And lo, in Monday's Globe, there, given significant prominence, is a story on Page A2 with a picture about one-third the size of the page, ''400 rally in support of troops, against protesters."

Gotta laugh. Yes...it's true...the Boston Globe is part of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy!! How DARE they give equal time to the pro-America rally. (I'm amazed the N.Y. Times Jr. actually MENTIONED the rally.) And this guy is all wrong on the numbers, PLUS:
>>Oh, and by the way, every single one of the antiwar protesters support the troops.
If you really want to support them, support the war and the President.
>>It's the immoral, criminal Bush war policies we oppose.
Moonbats on the loose again.

(he continues: "So there it is. Fair and balanced: 400 vs. 100,000. And the 400 get equal treatment. Oh, and by the way, every single one of the antiwar protesters support the troops. It's the immoral, criminal Bush war policies we oppose. Never mind the liberal/conservative dichotomy; just give us honest reporting and fairness.")

there were probably more than 400 counterprotestors at the Sat rally, I'm guessing, and much more on Sunday...

When you count the 34 genuinely grieved, heartbroken Gold Star parents on our side of the fence versus Cindy Sheehan's total output of genuine grief, we will have them outnumbered throughout eternity.

Me thinks that "protests" have become so commonplace, they are no longer newsworthy!!
However, rallies in support are still rather "unique" and thus get a lot more attention!!

Poor protester, all that traveling for nothing. Runs back home hoping to see himself in the paper (vanity just like momma she-man ) and lo! no story.
Perhaps if they quit exaggerating about the number of protesters, (in reality it was only 8-9,000 people) they would have published a picture. In fact, maybe that's why they didn't. A picture would prove there wasn't 100,000 people there.

Somebody needs a hug.
Well, all right, a de-lousing first, then a hug.

The protester would have been much better off subjected to "a little wind and a little rain" on the Gulf Coast that day.

Not only that, all those protesters weren't anti-war protestors, there were communists, Marxists, Palestinians, all sorts of moon-bats with their own causes, the same old protesters we always see, the same idiots on stilts, all the regulars. may as well pull a pic from an old protest file, same people, same banners same faces.

No, I think it's more than that. The ANTI-EVERYTHING crowd is more like an embarrassment to the dems .. who didn't even want to attend the protestors' event.
Most of what the protestors' speakers said was over the top - and nobody who's running for re-election wants to be associated with that.

Nitwit anti-victory protestor: Oh, and by the way, every single one of the antiwar protesters support the troopsBigSkyFreeper: No. You don't support the troops if you don't support the war.
There is a better rebuttal. We should all be saying:
You don't support the troops by supporting the enemy!
And that is exactly what the so-called peace protest was all about.
