I would guess he is comfy cozy in Iran.

He is an elitist, but a true warrior. He would have no problem living in the trenches for his cause. If he had access to Iran, I'd suspect he'd be there to. He could be really anywhere if able to slip past the US surveillance. Northern Africa would be cozy just the same as Iran.
