First Trio "Married" in The Netherlands
The Brussels Journal ^ | 2005-09-27 | Paul Belien

Posted on 09/28/2005 5:18:08 PM PDT by bahblahbah

The Netherlands and Belgium were the first countries to give full marriage rights to homosexuals. In the United States some politicians propose “civil unions” that give homosexual couples the full benefits and responsibilities of marriage. These civil unions differ from marriage only in name.

Meanwhile in the Netherlands polygamy has been legalised in all but name. Last Friday the first civil union of three partners was registered. Victor de Bruijn (46) from Roosendaal “married” both Bianca (31) and Mirjam (35) in a ceremony before a notary who duly registered their civil union.

“I love both Bianca and Mirjam, so I am marrying them both,” Victor said. He had previously been married to Bianca. Two and a half years ago they met Mirjam Geven through an internet chatbox. Eight weeks later Mirjam deserted her husband and came to live with Victor and Bianca. After Mirjam’s divorce the threesome decided to marry.

Victor: “A marriage between three persons is not possible in the Netherlands, but a civil union is. We went to the notary in our marriage costume and exchanged rings. We consider this to be just an ordinary marriage.”

Asked by journalists to tell the secret of their peculiar relationship, Victor explained that there is no jealousy between them. “But this is because Mirjam and Bianca are bisexual. I think that with two heterosexual women it would be more difficult.” Victor stressed, however, that he is “a one hundred per cent heterosexual” and that a fourth person will not be allowed into the “marriage.” They want to take their marriage obligations seriously: “to be honest and open with each other and not philander.”

Doctor Evil here has two women, and yet when I was single, I couldn't get a date if I went to a Women's prison with a carton of Kools.

Freaking Putz.

You can bet Marzipan's ex-husband is kicking back with a cold one. Bet he feels like he's been paroled.

Works for him, afterwards he can fall asleep without having to discuss his feelings with the women, since they have each other to talk to.

I am sure that if the women would have been hot, some of the guys on the thread would be more tolerant of the arrangement. ;)

Historically, the entire point of polygamy was to provide multiple women with the financial security of a wealthy male at the expense of the other less successful men in the community.

I don't see what the big deal is.

...

Of YOU don't. Truthfully men have historically tried to make excuses as to why they assume they should all be masters of their own private harems. Slobs

Polygamy was for the *benefit* of women at the expense of less competitive males. Today we still practice serial polygamy rather than parallel polygamy. The net beneficiaries are still women who often have income streams from multiple indentured males.

Who *wouldn't* want two wives? Hard enough for one to keep up with all the responsibilities of a modern household (even with your help) while still earning a living. Two people (three really) sharing the tasks would make everything so much easier.

Yeah, sure, there's absolutely no distinction between a fully conscious adult human being, and a gerbil? Give me a break.

Well, the homosexual community seems to like either when it come to sex. And let's face it...homosexuals are driven by sexual urges, not the desire to be part of a family unit, ie male husband, female wife, normal children.

I imagine it's only a matter of time before someone will be able to marry their dog, cat, horse, mule, cow, snake, gerbil...

Great news for Richard Gere! He can now move to the Netherlands and wed his beloved Squeaky!
