It's true, Earle has prosecuted more Dems than Reps, now how do I argue that?

Beats me. Wasn't my question. Did you mean to direct that to someone else?

Well, over his career, this was a one-party state. All Democrat. The Republican takeover didn't even begin until the mid-90s, and we didn't even gain control of the legislature until 2002.

So, he attacked some Rats that he didn't agree with when they were the only game in town. Very impressive.

Why would you argue on an irrelevant point?

Either the indictment has merit, or not. Argue that.

Michael Medved explained that Texas has had a uniquely conservative Democratic element in its legislature which falls in line with the Republicans on voting and shares their goodwill. Earl has prosecuted many of these "Democrats", mostly unsuccessfully.

While it is true that Earle has prosecuted more Dems than Republicans that is because for most of the time he has been in office the majority of elected state officials and congressmen have been Dems. Earle simply prosecuted conservative Dems, most of whom, like Texas Governor Rick Perry, have now switched to the Republican Party.

The information going around on the Internet about Earle prosecuting Democrats is misleading. At the time of those prosecutions, Texas was a Democratic state, the Republican party was almost nonexistent, and the prosecutions were aimed at Conservative Democrats, they were political enemies of Earle.

He's been at this for decades.

Before there was more than a handful of Republicans in Texas, he was prosecuting conservative Democrats.

What used to be conservative Texas Democrats are now mainstream Texas Republicans.
