Regardless of how the case plays out, a lot of damage was done with the indictment. So the Demonrats win on that basis.

So the Demonrats win on that basis.

All they'll win over is their choir of the uneducated and infirmed.

Actually, it would be very sweeet to discredit Earle. And Delay has made it official that he is stepping down "temporarily."

I think we need to finish this issue and hopefully that will include proving Earle's utter bias, use of his public office to exercise vendettas and political plans and such.

Not if the charges are laughed out of court as they were when Ronnie Earle indicted Kay Baily Hutchinson when she first ran for the Senate. The presiding judge threw out the charges against Hutchinson making Earle and his partisan dem backers look like hacks and fools. Can anyone say backlash?

Regardless of how the case plays out...

My prediction (fwiw):

1) Watch for some type of minor scandal to be raised in the coming months against a key Democrat, probably in Congress. Maybe Pelosi on an ethics violation, or Maxine Waters or a rising star in Democrat circles in Texas.

2) The case will not make it to trial. Charges will be dropped or a judge will throw it out.

3) Earle's career is over (possible disbarment hearing?)

4) Delay will retire from Congress to become a lobbyist (ala Daschole).

While I do understand your sentiments, this is a different age than what Republicans had to endure in the past. Already, I am seeing a vigorous defense of Delay, which is unusual since many don't even know the details yet.

The new media is something we didn't have with these attacks in the past...not to mention, that with America more politically polarized, there are more people who will see this for what it is.

It's kind of sad, but I think the Democrats defense of Clinton (and his many scandals) has changed the way some people will view any scandals in the future. If Clinton can be rehabilitated with charges that were true, Tom Delay certainly has a chance if these are lies. In fact, if things are as they now appear, there is a good chance this could even harm the mediacrats more than Delay.
