Blunt is no RINO and he is close to Bush. He will push the Bush agenda.

Absolutely - especially the tax break renewal.

No offense to REAL Kalifornia Republicans, but I trust a Kalifornia Republican like I trust a North Eastern Republican.

I'm from California and I take no offense.

I would say I don't think it is related to geography, but agree that Dreier is not the guy who should have it.

Much better than Dreier, yes.

I voted for Dreier when I was in his district and got his hand written letters he claimed to have dashed off on one of his jet set travels.

There are rumors that he is gay.

Oh, by all means let's listen to and believe "rumors". LOL.

Dreier did an impressive job in the 90's during the Clinton years. He was on TV constantly and was an excellent spokesman for Republicans during that time.

I've liked him ever since.

Some folks on FR have become mirror images of the very thing we hate in the left.

Drier isn't gay.

Rumor probably started by DUers.

My mother was born in Missouri...and my grandparents had a farm there...where I spent most summers growing up.

I like Missouri people...and I don't think I have ever heard a negative word about Blount...

which is what the Republicans need right now...I just hope he will sign on with the OFFSET legislation...

I seem to remember hearing rumors that he might have POTUS aspirations...any truth to that rumor???

Oh wait, according to the malcontents here, unless the person as a 100% rating, then they're a RINO.

Now, now..no need to get snootie.

" I would say I don't think it is related to geography, but agree that Dreier is not the guy who should have it."

Maybe not geography, but demographics. Kalifornia is a state with a shrinking conservative base. The Republican officials that are left are seeing each other lose elections to an increasing liberal and illegal population.

Since they are political animals first, they are increasingly pressured to "moderate".

This goes for any "Republican" in a state where their future is extinction.

Roy is relatively clean as a whistle.

Good to hear that. I am sure that after tonight's MSM gets through with him he will be a little less clean.

It is my wish the first thing he does is sweep the floor with Pelosi and Reid and make them wish for the days when Tom Delay was the majority leader.

No offense to Texans, but after DeLay's statement about all the fat being trimmed out of the budget, I hope this changes becomes permanent.

DeLay seems to be a big government Republican, as does Hastert.

Don't know much about Blunt, but from the posts here, it sounds like rats just went from the frying pan to the fire! :-)

Good news.
