Hall of Lame is getting crowded
The Washington Times ^ | 9-28-05 | Tom Knott

Rafael Palmeiro vowed to tell his side of the story after he was suspended for steroid use in August. He said he did not knowingly inject steroids into his body. No, no, no. Never. Ever. And oh how he wanted to make that clear to the public and the perjury-minded members of Congress. But now we know better. We know Palmeiro believes he tested positive because of a dose of B-12 vitamin supplied by teammate Miguel Tejada. At least that was his theory during his grievance hearing. It could have been the B-12. Yep. Or maybe someone stuck something in the post-game food platter and he unknowingly consumed steroid-laced fried chicken. Oh, please. Stop. These guys are pathetic. Jason Giambi apologizes for something, not certain what, Mark McGwire says the past is the past, Barry Bonds sticks to his flaxseed-oil defense, and now Palmeiro trots out his B-12 spiel, as if he expects the baseball public to swallow it whole.

Madtv did a funny spoof last week - with palmero being the spokesman for "Oops, I hope that wasn't steroids" brand steroids.

Man, that skit was brutal. With Palmiero "accidently" backing up into Jose Canseco holding a needle, then "accidently" shoving steroid suppositories up his own ass.

Ouch. In more ways than one.

Barry has amazing command of the strike zone much like Giambi does. He is likely to hit 40-45 home runs a year when healthy. Pitching isn't what it used to be and with his body armour there's little for him to fear.

I'm not that dumb to think he hasn't cheated though. The guy is pushing 40 and still going strong. He had the tools and talent to be a Hall of Famer without the juice. Greedy, self-absorbed bastard that he is that wasn't enough for him.

These streoid-using sports-bozos should have the same penalty for illegal drug use that we in the military have:

If you get caught, you get a bad conduct discharge and your done.

for the Sports guys, it should be you get caught, you're banned from pro sports for the rest of your life. End of story.

They are just SO LAME. Pathetic, mewling whiners.

Good point. It amazes me that sports figures who continually screw up are welcomed back to the game time after time. Drug abuse, domestic violence, and rape occur all of the time with sports figures. Hold these clowns accountable so that those who follow behind them will think twice when temptation comes calling.

The things is the fans don't care. If the fans don't care, why should the leage?

Their use of steroids will catch up with them sooner or later. Being in denial about using it won't change the fact that they are subjecting themselves to an early death.
Didn't Lyle Alzado die from a brain tumor brought on by steroid use? Sad that money and fame mean more to them than life itself. You can't take it with you, guys!
