It IS a rubber stamp. Prosecutors generally issue their own indictments but in high profile cases they resort to a grand jury to preserve the fiction the accusation is handed down by a panel of disinterested citizen peers. Baloney! GJ always follow the lead of the D.A and if he wants someone indicted, he will get it.

If Earle had the goods on DeLay, he'd have come down with a raft of charges to increase the odds of obtaining a conviction. Also, if Earle had the goods on DeLay, he wouldn't have had to go through six grand juries to get an indictment.

DeLay waived the statue of limitations. Why?

You, Johnie, are the one spewing bile.
Go back and read Mich's history. What's got you so upset? Facts?
Mr. Earle has also indicted Dims. Live with it.

:Are there any details? What is the conspiracy? Is there proof of any wrongdoing?
This has been a big story for better than a year. It's tied to uber-lobbyist Jack Abramoff, recently indicted, and Abramoff's pal (and former top administration procurement official) David Safavian, also recently indicted. This is a real lousy ball of wax.

Sorry but just screaming the accusation over and over and over again is proof of nothing. So care to actually try to defend your side instead of just spewing bile at the other side for a change? What accusation? All I have done in this thread is provide, (at someone else's request,) a list of Democrats that Earle went after.. since then you have been attacking me and accusing me of things I've never said.

Could we vary the metaphor a bit here? I know you Repubs are supposed to believe in message control and talking points, but this ham sandwich thing is getting ridiculous Since you seem so desperate to ignore the original point, here is your post that started all this. Care to actually PROVE something finally instead of just screaming the accusation over and over? It is NOT the responsibility of the accused to prove the wacko accuser wrong.

Anybody remember the huge brouhaha over the House Ethics Committee's proposed revised rules that would have let an indicted leader stay put? This would have reversed the reforms put in by Newt in the Contract w/America in '95. Ugly! Lord Acton Alert.

I know you Repubs are supposed to believe in message control and talking points, but this ham sandwich thing is getting ridiculous I posted the above because every other post used the "ham sandwich" metaphor, and I was hoping to spur posters into using some creativity in coming up with metaphors rather than just parroting the same thing over and over..
I still don't see how you took that as an accusation against Delay.

The thing to remember here is that this is just round 2 of what we call in Texas, "a piss'n contest". This is all about redistricting in Texas, a fight the rats are losing and
struck fear in the hearts of Texans by running away and hiding in New Mexico and OK .
He has tried this before when he went after Kay Bailey and the Republicans tried to spank him then by trying to pair Travis and Williamson Co. under one prosecutor(would have forced him out of office). We failed and now he is firing back.

I think he's troll hunting because you said "you Republicans."
